One of the jobs that have a high risk is firefighters. Based on Governor Regulation
264 of 2016 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the DKI Jakarta Province
Fire and Rescue Service, firefighters have the task of carrying out fire prevention and control
and rescue.This study aims to: (1) determine whether predisposing factors affect unsafe
behavior (2) determine whether equipment management has an effect on unsafe behavior (3)
technical competence factors moderate the relationship between equipment management and
unsafe behavior. The research method used is quantitative research with a cross sectional
research design to obtain an overview of predisposing factors and equipment management
for unsafe behavior by moderating reinforcing factors and technical competence.
The results of this study indicate that the equipment management variable has a
positive and significant effect on unsafe behavior and the technical competence variable
moderating equipment management on unsafe behavior has a positive and significant effect.
Suggestions for Central Jakarta Administrative City Fire and Rescue Sub-Department are
expected to be able to develop a tiered and equitable technical competency improvement for
operational members as well as the need for commitment, consistency and leadership
contribution in terms of monitoring the completeness of the use of personal protective
equipment used by members and employee motivation towards the implementation of SOP
already made.
