Pengaruh Gaya Kepemimpinan dan Kualitas SDM terhadap Kinerja Crew Kapal X yang Dimediasi oleh Motivasi dan Disiplin

Maritime transportation plays a central role in connecting thousands of islands in Indonesia. As an archipelagic nation, interregional connectivity is vital, with maritime transport being the backbone of this connectivity. In this context, the performance of ship crews holds an indispensable role. Effective performance not only ensures navigational safety but also facilitates the smooth transport of passengers and goods. Therefore, the qualifications and competencies of ship crews are of utmost importance.
This research employs a quantitative approach, involving 57 respondents from PT X's ship crews in the year 2023. Data is collected through questionnaires, and Path Analysis using SPSS version 23 is employed for data analysis.
The findings of this research indicate that: (a) There is no significant influence between leadership style and motivation; (b) There is a significant influence between human resource quality and motivation; (c) There is a significant influence between leadership style and discipline; (d) There is a significant influence between human resource quality and discipline; (e) There is no significant influence between leadership style and performance; (f) There is a significant influence between human resource quality and performance; (g) There is a significant influence between motivation and performance; (h) There is a significant influence between discipline and performance; (i) Motivation does not mediate the influence between leadership style and performance; (j) Discipline mediates the influence between leadership style and performance; (k) Motivation mediates the influence between human resource quality and performance; and (l) Discipline mediates the influence between human resource quality and performance.
This research depicts that in the maritime transportation environment, human resource quality and leadership style significantly impact the motivation, discipline, and performance of ship crews. Motivation and discipline play crucial roles as influencing factors between leadership style and performance. This study provides essential insights for enhancing the quality of ship crews, aiming to elevate the effectiveness of maritime transportation in Indonesia
