Pengaruh Beban Kerja dan Pergantian Kru Kapal Terhadap Kinerja Kru Kapal dengan Pemediasi Stress Kerja Selama Pandemi Covid-19 di PT Tos Indonesia
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in significant impacts across various
sectors, including the maritime industry. In Indonesia, the maritime service sector
faces complex challenges in maintaining operational continuity and the safety of
sailors. Strict health protocols are implemented on ships and ports to prevent
virus transmission. In this context, ship crew performance becomes crucial in
ensuring smooth operations and safety at sea.
This study aims to examine the influence of workload and crew rotation on
ship crew performance, considering the mediating variable of work stress, during
the COVID-19 pandemic at PT. Tos Indonesia. The research method used is
quantitative, involving 50 employees of PT. TOS Indonesia as respondents in
2023. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using path
analysis with SPSS version 23.
The research findings indicate that: (a) Workload has a significant
influence on work stress with a t-value of 3.714 and a significance level of 0.001;
(b) Crew rotation has a significant influence on work stress with a t-value of -
3.598 and a significance level of 0.001; (c) Workload has a significant influence
on performance with a t-value of -2.528 and a significance level of 0.015; (d)
Crew rotation has a significant influence on performance with a t-value of 3.557
and a significance level of 0.001; (e) Work stress has a significant influence on
performance with a t-value of -2.403 and a significance level of 0.020; (f) Work
stress mediates the relationship between workload and performance with a zvalue
of -2.023 and a significance level of 0.043; and (g) Work stress also
mediates the relationship between crew rotation and performance with a z-value
of 2.002 and a significance level of 0.045.
This study provides valuable insights for companies in managing workload
and crew rotation to enhance ship crew performance during the COVID-19
pandemic. Moreover, the findings regarding the mediating role of work stress lay
the foundation for the development of more holistic strategies to support the wellbeing
and performance of ship crew during the pandemic
