The shipping industry plays a crucial role in global trade, facilitating the movement of goods and people. Nevertheless, maritime accidents have significant implications in both material and human losses. These accidents are often attributed to human errors, including lack of knowledge, procedural inconsistencies, crew fatigue, and decision-making mistakes. This study examines the impact of crewing management and maritime safety knowledge on work accidents at PT X. The research employs a quantitative method with 55 respondents from the ship's crew. Path analysis is utilized to analyze the data using SPSS version 23. The findings indicate a significant influence of crewing management and maritime safety knowledge on work accidents. Similarly, a significant influence is observed between maritime safety knowledge and work accidents. The results also support the role of safety understanding as a mediator between crewing management and work accidents, as well as between maritime safety knowledge and work accidents. This study contributes to understanding the complexity of factors contributing to maritime accidents and their implications for safety at PT X.
