Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Melalui Pemanfaatan Media Loose di PAUD Surkasih Rawa Bebek Jakarta Timur
The purpose of this study is to describe how the effect of using loose parts media in improving the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years which include problem solving, logical thinking, creative thinking, and recognizing symbols at Paud SuryaKasih Rawa Bebek, Kindergarten B group.
The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research. This research uses the Kemmis and Taggart model where each cycle follows systematic steps in accordance with the rules of research and the needs of research parameters. The stages of the research include: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Before conducting research, pre-action research was held to determine the results of the initial percentage of improving children's cognitive abilities. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview and documentation. Children's cognitive abilities can increase after using loose parts media. This can be seen from the results of research on the initial cognitive abilities of group B children on average 34.97%. After class action in Cycle I increased to 55.45% and in Cycle II action increased to 83.45%. Loose parts media is quite effective in providing inspiration in playing in early childhood.
The implication of this research is to deepen and enrich the insight of playing using the utilization of loose parts media to improve the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years
