Economic crisis hit Asian in 1997. Since the, Indonesian International trade activities have suffered from turmoil that could potentially impede their future development. This article purports to analysis whether there is a difference between Indonesian International trade development before crisis and after crisis period. Analytical methods employed are descriptive and non-parametric statistics. Finding show that in general, there is a difference in Indonesian international trade development between the precrisis and post-crisis period. It indicates that economic crisis is hypothesised to influence the development of Indonesian international trade, both whithin and outside ASEAN region. The government should realise this fact, and should produce and enact economic policies leading the country to revive the performance of its international trade that plunged on account of crisis. These policies have to be directed towards outward-oriented strategy since it is deemed more effective than inward-oriented strategy in boosting up economic growth and development of a country with open economy.
